About Scott Meyer

West Virginia American Art Glass, LLC, was created in 2015 and our grand opening was on June 20th – WV day. We are located in downtown Weston, WV. Among many nice shops and restaurants in a cozy small-town setting, we produce all of our art glass on site in a unique gallery/studio where visitors may watch glass being made daily. We chose Weston due to the rich history of glassmaking in the area and look forward to continuing that history.

Biography

I started art school very young at age 6 and have always been connected to my creative side. When I first touched glass, I knew there was going to be something beautiful coming from it. I studied, watched and learned the secrets of early glassblowing and realized I would become one of America’s glass artists. Now, 23 years a professional glassblower later, I have returned to historic downtown Weston, WV to expand my creative skills and to continue the tradition of American Art Glass. I have experienced everything from large sculptures to tiny works of art in a sphere. My glass shows my love of the old Italian glassworkers as well as the functionality of the early American glass.I studied at the famed Wheaton Village in Millville, NJ. I volunteered for many years helping some of the world’s most famous glass artisans create wonderful works of art.
