My photography style captures a mood and emotion which I always value above the ‘perfection’ of many digital images produced these days. I enjoy making images of the local landscapes, and my daughter exploring our homestead in all of its wild glory. Sally Mann’s photography work and incredible writings are a huge inspiration to me. I use medium format film cameras whenever possible for personal projects.
My web and graphic design is designed with efficiency in mind foremost, so the information we seek is easy to find, and we may get offline quickly. I am a strong advocate of less technology in our lives, and I try to facilitate simplistic management of a website through my designs. We collectively need more time outside, and I strive to help make that possible in any way I can for myself and others.
Body adornment is my main calling, and I look forward to bringing that offering to West Virginia, some day, when my financial resources are able to match my desire!
By current trade, I am a graphic/web designer and photographer originally from Baltimore, MD. I relocated to Capon Springs, WV in 2016 with my husband and our toddler daughter. Prior to my pregnancy and move, I was the shop manager and tattoo artist at a prominent Maryland custom tattoo studio for six years. Following the flow of a very child-centered approach to parenthood, I transitioned to offering my digital work and photography skills in lieu of tattooing.
In the past I have worked as a screen printer, embroiderer, seamstress, and even a scrap book store employee. I am lucky to have a versatile background in a variety of art media, both self taught and through various apprenticeships. I have a strong D-I-Y ethic that empowers me to continue striving, learning, failing, and surfing on. I seek other creatives to collaborate with in a meaningful way.
