During the summer of 2018, murals will be applied to 6 interstate support piers under I-64 interstate in Charleston. SNTF/COPA is asking that this call for proposals be without a specific theme to encourage individual artist aesthetic and unique point of view.

The SNTF/COPA will select 6 artists for the project; each artist will paint one pier. Artists who have participated in previous phases of the Peer to Pier public art initiative may apply. However, proposals submitted by artists who have not yet painted a pier may be given preference. Artists will receive $2,000 per interstate pier. It is the artists’ responsibility to supply their own paints and other materials.

Proposals will be accepted until May 11, 2018. The installation of the project may begin in July 1, 2018 and be completed by September 30, 2018.

The Montgomery Arts Group (MAG) announces the Cube Art Gallery Show in conjunction with Riverfest. A reception will be held at 208 Third Ave (Former Tabit Bldg), June 1 from 7M-9PM.  Artwork must be a cube form.  All media accepted.

Arti Gras at Yakfest

Arti Gras is looking for vendors for the first Yak Fest. This is a new river-based festival in St Albans, on the Tour de Coal weekend which will include music, art, exhibits, new kayaks, craft beer, ribs and more.

Oglebay Institute’s multi-media exhibition, Crosscurrents, has been a staple of their art exhibition season for more than 30 years, showcasing some of the finest artwork from the tri-state area.

Each year, dozens of artists who reside within an 80-mile radius of Wheeling vie for a chance to exhibit in this annual show, held in the Hart Galleries in the historic Stifel Fine Arts Center. Works are chosen by a guest juror and cash prizes awarded to winning artists.

Every item sold in the Tamarack facility is approved through a jury process where the artist’s product is critiqued by a panel of Master Craftspeople and Artists who look for outstanding craftsmanship, unique design, creativity, and use of materials that are of exceptional quality. Each artist’s work is evaluated and critiqued by a panel of jurors who excel within their specific media type.

Carnegie Hall presents its 29th Annual Juried Exhibition with the theme “Alternative Views.” Works will be judged on the basis of originality, technical quality, and thematic depth. No photography will be accepted in 2018. Jurors decisions are final.

The 3rd annual Baltimore Fine Craft Show is a juried exhibition and sale of contemporary American & International crafts and design. The show will be held August 30 – September 2, 2018 at the Baltimore Convention Center.  Artists are selected on the basis of the originality, artistic conception, design and quality of their work. The show does not charge sales commissions.

The 13th annual WNC Pottery Festival, November 3, 2018 is a juried event showcasing more than 40 master potters, with many demonstrations in a variety of techniques. It has become a top arts event in the mountains, attended annually by several thousand aficionados of pottery. All work will be handmade by the artist.  No manufactured goods, no “seconds,” and only artists selling his or her work will be eligible to participate.
