Charleston Main Streets – East End will be continuing StreetWorks 2017 as part of FestivALL. This year, CMS-EE will ask up to 40 local artists to create a piece of art that will be his or her interpretation of the theme: “Nevertheless, She Persisted: Celebrating Achievements of Women.” Accepted works will be auctioned at the StreetWorks Art Auction and Celebration during FestivALL, and renderings will be transferred to circular aluminum street signs (30” in diameter) by having each piece either digitally transferred or professionally photographed and transferred to a vinyl material that will be permanently adhered to the metal signs.

Regional artists are invited to submit pieces for Oglebay Institute’s annual Crosscurrents juried multi-media art exhibition at the Stifel Fine Arts Center, July 6 – Aug. 18, 2017. Crosscurrents is open to artists 18 years or older who work in any media and live or maintain a studio within an 80 mile radius of Oglebay Institute’s Stifel Fine Arts Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. Works must be completed within the last calendar year and have not been previously exhibited at the Stifel Fine Arts Center. Artists may submit up to three entries A nonrefundable $25 entry fee is required along with your completed entry form. All entries must be hand-delivered to the Stifel Fine Arts Center between June 12-17, 2017 up until 4 p.m.

The Mountain State Art and Craft Fair: An Appalachian Experience continues a long tradition of bringing high-quality craftsmanship to the beautiful state of West Virginia. It is known for hosting unique shopping, family fun and entertainment. Since 1963 the fair has taken place on the grounds of the Cedar Lakes Conference Center near Ripley, WV.

The West Virginia Division of Culture and History invites West Virginia artists to enter the 20th WV Juried Exhibition since 1979. The biennial event celebrates the exceptional talents and creativity of Mountain State artists. More than $30,000 in awards are available for participants in the exhibition, as well as the opportunity to have work purchased for the West Virginia State Museum art collection.

The Beckley Arts Center announces the 2017 Juried Art Exhibit. There is no theme for this exhibit. Any medium or technique is acceptable. The exhibit will open July 5, 2017 in the Cynthia Bickey Art Gallery, Beckley Art Center, 600 Johnstown Road in Beckley. The exhibit will be on display through August 26, 2017. There will be a reception at the gallery on Friday, July 7 from 6-7:30 pm. The exhibition is open to all visual artists over the age of 18 in all media. Entries must be original works of art that have been completed within the last three (3) years, and have not been previously exhibited in The Beckley Art Center. Awards available.

The American Craft Council’s four annual, juried craft shows convene a vibrant community of more than 1,500 of the country’s most talented craft artists – ranging from those just beginning their careers to masters in the field – and reach nearly 50,000 attendees each year. Exhibiting artists represent the broad aesthetic, technical, and material diversity of the craft field, from age-old traditions to cutting edge technologies.
