My photography style captures a mood and emotion which I personally value above the ‘perfection’ of many digital images. I enjoy making images of the local landscapes, and my daughter exploring our homestead in all of its wild glory. Sally Mann’s photography work and incredible writings are a huge inspiration to me. I use medium format film cameras whenever possible for personal projects.
My web and graphic design work is executed with efficiency in mind foremost, so the information we seek is easy to find, and we may get offline quickly. I am a strong advocate of less technology in our lives, and I try to facilitate simplistic management of a website through my designs. We collectively need more time outside, and I strive to help make that possible in any way I can for myself and others.
Body adornment is my main calling, and I look forward to bringing that offering to West Virginia, someday, when my financial resources are able to match my artistic desire!
By current trade, I am a graphic/web designer and photographer originally from Baltimore, MD. I relocated to Capon Springs, WV in 2016 with my husband and our daughter. Prior to my pregnancy and move, I was the shop manager and tattoo artist at a prominent Maryland custom tattoo studio for six years. Following the flow of a child-centered approach to parenthood, I transitioned to offering my digital design work and photography in lieu of tattooing in 2014.
In the past I have worked as a screen printer, embroiderer, seamstress, barista, and even a scrapbook store worker. I am lucky to have a versatile background in a variety of art media, both self-taught and through various apprenticeships. I have a strong D-I-Y ethic that empowers me to continue striving, learning, failing, and surfing on. I seek other creatives to collaborate with in a meaningful way.
