My work is comprised of functional and sculptural works in clay. I use many techniques that allow me to come up with just the right surface I desire. I like to incorporate bits and pieces of my life in my works – they might be rocks, wood, or treasurers I find along life’s path. My current work style has been developed from many years of trial and error to arrive at a portfolio of stunning work.
I am a West Virginia native since birth. I have lived all of my life in Glen Dale where I maintains my studio. My family members were also artists, working in leather, clay, and mosaic practices. Betsy has been involved in art since childhood, and, in 1995, chose to follow the path of her childhood love of clay.
I have studied with many of today’s great clay artists. I have been featured in State of the Art Magazine, Art To Art Palette, Ceramic Council calendars, and many others. My work has been in many respected exhibits in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania and is also in numerous private and corporate collections as well as homes of collectors. I work as an arts advocate and mentor many young artists.
