About Christopher Schultz

My current work is the culmination of ideas I began working with a handful of years ago. I was looking for a way to incorporate many of the things I love about art making into my practice. I began working in various modes: realism, abstraction, observation, imagination. My goal is to take all the things I love and let them meld together in one pot. The only way to truly express the way I currently feel about life is to allow these things to coexist. For me, they belong together.
My work is informed by the world around me. I’m making work that I want to see and letting the things I enjoy participate in the experience.

Biography

I’m an artist who primarily works in oil painting but has an extensive understanding of multiple mediums including, but not limited to, graffiti, sculpture, graphic design, writing, poetry, music, etc. I’ve been an artist for the entirety of my life. I grew up in and also currently reside in north central West Virginia. I received a B.A. in Fine Arts from Fairmont State University.
