The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History invites West Virginia artists to enter the 21st West Virginia Juried Exhibition. Since 1979, the biennial event celebrates the exceptional talents and creativity of Mountain State artists.
The department will purchase award-winning art for the West Virginia State Museum art collection, ensuring that this collection grows and includes the works of contemporary artists as well as past masters. Awards will be presented for the Governor’s Award, Award of Excellence, and Merit Award.

Tamarack is looking for the Best of West Virginia. Every item sold in the Tamarack facility is approved through a jury process. Artist’s product is critiqued by a panel of Master Craftspeople and Artists who look for outstanding craftsmanship, unique design, creativity, and use of exceptional quality materials. To be considered for an in-person jury, Tamarack accepts digital image submissions of work via an online submission process.

The Berkeley Arts Council in Martinsburg, West Virginia announces the Seventh Annual Eastern West Virginia Juried Exhibit, to be displayed in the Berkeley Art Works Gallery, 116 North Queen Street in Martinsburg, WV. The exhibition will be on display September 4 – October 5, 2019.
The exhibit is open to artists in all media who reside in one of the eight counties that compose what is known as the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Those counties are Berkeley, Jefferson, Morgan, Hampshire, Hardy, Grant, Mineral, and Pendleton.

Artistry on Main has an open call for artists and artisans interested in becoming members. Artists whose items are accepted by the jury committee will be required to maintain inventory for sale in the gallery, operate the gallery one day per month, process sales and assist with other gallery operation.
RFP: Kinetic Wind Art Sculpture

Ausherman Family Foundation (“AFF”), in collaboration with Rotary Club of Carroll Creek, is requesting proposals for a site-specific commission for kinetic wind art. The sculpture will be displayed in the middle of Carroll Creek beginning in early spring for 2 to 8 months. Life Cycle expectations should be durable for a minimum of two installations, each of eight months of exposure.
Proposals from artists living within 80 miles of Frederick will be accepted by the Ausherman Family Foundation through August 16th at 5:00 pm. Individual artists or collaborative teams are welcome to apply. The project budget can range from $5,000-$15,000. The project budget includes artist(s) fees, supplies, fabrication, instillation, travel- related expenses, and other associated costs of the project.

Each April, in Washington DC, the Smithsonian Women’s Committee (SWC) welcomes 120 outstanding American craft artists and designers to participate in a five-day exhibition and sale – the renowned Smithsonian Craft+Design Show. Three expert jurors select up to 120 exhibitors from the total group of applicants, based on originality, artistic conception and quality of execution.
Show opens to the public April 23 – 26, 2020 with a preview night April 22.

Wayne Art Center is seeking submissions for the 25thInternational Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Fine Craft. Selected works will be on display in the Davenport Gallery of Wayne Art Center in Wayne, Pennsylvania from December 6, 2019, through February 1, 2020. This year’s juror, Jane Milosch will present $10,000 in prize awards.
Southern Appalachian Artist Guild National Juried Show

Cash prizes totaling $5,000, including $1,500 for Best of Show, will be awarded. The SAAG National Juried show, which is in its 12th year, will be on display during the peak visitor months of October and November, attracting interest from the surrounding tri-state metropolitan areas of Atlanta, Asheville, Chattanooga and Knoxville. Artworks selected by the juror will be displayed in the Richard Low Evans Gallery located in the historic courtroom of the Art Center, which is home to the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association in Blue Ridge, Georgia.

OPA’s 2019 Eastern Regional Exhibition is being hosted by Beverly McNeil Gallery, located in Birmingham, Alabama, October 10 through November 11, 2019. The Opening Reception will be held on Thursday, October 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the awards presentation at 7:00 p.m.
The goal of the exhibition is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.
The total awardswill be approximately $11,500, including a $4,000 Best In Show.

This is a call for the inclusion of public art collections in the Public Art Archive™, an online database of public art. To be considered for inclusion, you must be a professional artist who has completed and installed public artwork, or an administrator of an established public art program.
There is no charge to submit entries to the Public Art Archive™. Public art is defined here as art that is sited in a public place that is accessible or viewable by the general public and was, in most cases, commissioned by a public art entity, typically using percent-for-art or public funding. Gallery art and art exhibited inside galleries and museums is not eligible.
Works of art that were commissioned and/or gifted by corporations, museums, educational institutions, private parties, and other entities may be considered eligible. Artworks that have been destroyed are not eligible. Permanently cited, temporary, new media, performative, rotating, and portable works may be eligible if they meet the commonly known definition of public art or civic art.
