The Kanawha Garden Club of Charleston, West Virginia, seeks an artist to paint a botanical work of art on a utility box located at the Lee & Capitol Streets entrance to Davis Park. In keeping with the historical and serene nature of this urban space, the envisioned artwork will serve to cause the utility box to blend into the landscape of the park. To that end, the Garden Club seeks a tromp l’oeil effect that is executed primarily in understated shades of green, where the artwork subtly appears to be part of the park’s leafy vegetation.

The artist selected will receive $3,000. Installation may begin August 8, 2019 and must be completed by October 31, 2019.

The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History invites West Virginia artists to enter the 21st West Virginia Juried Exhibition. Since 1979, the biennial event celebrates the exceptional talents and creativity of Mountain State artists.

The department will purchase award-winning art for the West Virginia State Museum art collection, ensuring that this collection grows and includes the works of contemporary artists as well as past masters. Awards will be presented for the Governor’s Award, Award of Excellence, and Merit Award.

Every item sold in the Tamarack facility is approved through a jury process.  Artist’s product is critiqued by a panel of Master Craftspeople and Artists who look for outstanding craftsmanship, unique design, creativity, and use of exceptional quality materials. To be considered for an in-person jury, Tamarack accepts digital image submissions of work via an online submission process.

Rosewood Gallery 13th Annual Juried Sculpture Exhibition

HWD is a juried exhibition celebrating three-dimensional artwork by artists from Ohio and surrounding states.  Established in 2007, it is the region’s only gallery exhibition focused exclusively on sculpture.

Awards totaling $1,750, including the The Virginia Krause Hess Award for Excellence in Sculptural Art and The The Joan W. McCoy Memorial Peoples’ Choice Award, will be distributed at the discretion of the juror and will be announced at the Sunday, September 8 reception at 3 pm. Rosewood Gallery encourages sales, for which the City of Kettering Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department retains a 30% commission. The Peoples’ Choice award will be announced at the close of the exhibition.

The Franklin County Arts Council (Frank Arts) is seeking qualified muralists or teams to create outdoor murals for three walls in Frankfort, KY. Any artist over the age of 18 is eligible to submit their interest and qualifications. Artists who have a strong professional profile, experience in producing exterior semi-permanent public murals and/or have successfully worked on collaborative projects are encouraged to apply. Artist teams may also apply.

The budget for each mural may range from $8,000 to $20,000, depending on the size and complexity of the work. Phase One: RFQ and the evaluation of qualifications, from which a pool of up to 10 artists or artist teams will be invited to submit specific proposals. Phase Two: Selected artists/artist teams will prepare and submit a proposal to be considered for a particular site. An honorarium of $500 will be provided to each artist or team returning a completed proposal, which will be in addition to the mural fee.

Arts Downtown is a multifaceted, national juried exhibition in historic downtown Frankfort, KY curated by Josephine Sculpture Park and the Franklin County Arts Council. We are seeking contemporary sculpture proposals for outdoor exhibit for two years. Proposals can be new or existing work created within the past 3 years. Artists working in a variety of materials are encouraged to apply, including but not limited to stone, metal, wood, concrete, found objects, natural materials, plastics, fiberglass, light, sound, etc. Sculptures should be physically and thematically suitable for exhibition in public spaces throughout the downtown business district of Frankfort, KY.

Up to five works will be selected for exhibition. Stipends of $2000 will be awarded to exhibiting artists. A purchase prize of $10,000 may be awarded. Works may be for sale during length of exhibition. Artists agree to a 30% donation to JSP from any sale (excluding purchase prize). Works will be installed in October, dates TBD. JSP will provide professional installation of sculptures with crane service available.

Ausherman Family Foundation (“AFF”), in collaboration with Rotary Club of Carroll Creek, is requesting proposals for a site-specific commission for kinetic wind art. The sculpture will be displayed in the middle of Carroll Creek beginning in early spring for 2 to 8 months. Life Cycle expectations should be durable for a minimum of two installations, each of eight months of exposure.

Proposals from artists living within 80 miles of Frederick will be accepted by the Ausherman Family Foundation through August 16th at 5:00 pm. Individual artists or collaborative teams are welcome to apply. The project budget can range from $5,000-$15,000. The project budget includes artist(s) fees, supplies, fabrication, instillation, travel- related expenses, and other associated costs of the project.

Each April, in Washington DC, the Smithsonian Women’s Committee (SWC) welcomes 120 outstanding American craft artists and designers to participate in a five-day exhibition and sale – the renowned Smithsonian Craft+Design Show. Three expert jurors select up to 120 exhibitors from the total group of applicants, based on originality, artistic conception and quality of execution. 

Show opens to the public April 23 – 26, 2020 with a preview night April 22.

Wayne Art Center is seeking submissions for the 25thInternational Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Fine Craft. Selected works will be on display in the Davenport Gallery of Wayne Art Center in Wayne, Pennsylvania from December 6, 2019, through February 1, 2020. This year’s juror, Jane Milosch will present $10,000 in prize awards.

Cash prizes totaling $5,000, including $1,500 for Best of Show, will be awarded. The SAAG National Juried show, which is in its 12th year, will be on display during the peak visitor months of October and November, attracting interest from the surrounding tri-state metropolitan areas of Atlanta, Asheville, Chattanooga and Knoxville. Artworks selected by the juror will be displayed in the Richard Low Evans Gallery located in the historic courtroom of the Art Center, which is home to the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association in Blue Ridge, Georgia.

OPA’s 2019 Eastern Regional Exhibition is being hosted by Beverly McNeil Gallery, located in Birmingham, Alabama, October 10 through November 11, 2019. The Opening Reception will be held on Thursday, October 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the awards presentation at 7:00 p.m.

The goal of the exhibition is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.

The total awards will be approximately $11,500, including a $4,000 Best In Show.

This is a call for the inclusion of public art collections in the Public Art Archive™, an online database of public art. To be considered for inclusion, you must be a professional artist who has completed and installed public artwork, or an administrator of an established public art program.

There is no charge to submit entries to the Public Art Archive™.  Public art is defined here as art that is sited in a public place that is accessible or viewable by the general public and was, in most cases, commissioned by a public art entity, typically using percent-for-art or public funding. Gallery art and art exhibited inside galleries and museums is not eligible.

Works of art that were commissioned and/or gifted by corporations, museums, educational institutions, private parties, and other entities may be considered eligible. Artworks that have been destroyed are not eligible. Permanently cited, temporary, new media, performative, rotating, and portable works may be eligible if they meet the commonly known definition of public art or civic art.
