The College Art Search: FestivALL’s Quest for Emerging Artists is an annual event produced by Charleston Town Center, which searches for the most visually artistic college students & showcases a selection of artwork at the Town Center Mall during FestivALL in June. Mediums include collage, drawing, painting, photography, graphic art, pen & ink, sculpture, textiles, stained glass and repurposed materials.

Artist Alley Public Art Murals Project

FestivALL Charleston and the City of Charleston Office of Public Art are requesting proposals and qualifications from artists for the design and implementation of a series of public art murals to be located on Charleston’s West Side Elk City District. Eight artists will be selected. Each artist will paint one 4′ x 8′ panel to be installed in the Artist Alley.

Artists will receive $1,000 per panel. Artists who are selected will be notified by June 11, 2019 and panels should be completed by September 30, 2019. *Some activities will be required during FestivALL June 16-30, particularly June 22 from 4 – 7 p.m. during the Ice Cream & the Arts in Elk City event.

Gate 5 Industrial Art Festival is a free community event celebrating Weirton’s industrial roots through art and entertainment.  The festival is sponsored by the Renaissance Weirton Corporation and held at the Weirton Event Center, Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.

The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History invites West Virginia artists to enter the 21st West Virginia Juried Exhibition. Since 1979, the biennial event celebrates the exceptional talents and creativity of Mountain State artists.

The department will purchase award-winning art for the West Virginia State Museum art collection, ensuring that this collection grows and includes the works of contemporary artists as well as past masters. Awards will be presented for the Governor’s Award, Award of Excellence, and Merit Award.

The Putnam Farmers Market was established in 2009. All vendors are local. You’ll find in-season produce, locally raised meat, farm fresh eggs, home baked goods, local honey, fresh flowers, berries, handmade jewelry and crafts from local farmers and artisans. The market is located at Valley Park and open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

ODC is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting fine craft for over 50 years. We present three fine art and fine craft fairs annually: Columbus Winterfair, Greater Cincinnati Winterfair, and the Art Studio Clearance Sale. The goals of ODC’s fairs, exhibitions, education programs and publications are to establish a standard of excellence in craft, encourage creative growth, provide professional support to craftspeople, and build public awareness, appreciation and collection of fine craft.

Still on the 2018 Sunshine Artist 100 Best list in classic and contemporary crafts category, and going strong. Winterfair is supported by a loyal, craft-buying audience of 18,000, and draws patrons from as far as Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis. Rosewood Gallery 13th Annual Juried Sculpture Exhibition

HWD is a juried exhibition celebrating three-dimensional artwork by artists from Ohio and surrounding states.  Established in 2007, it is the region’s only gallery exhibition focused exclusively on sculpture.

Awards totaling $1,750, including the The Virginia Krause Hess Award for Excellence in Sculptural Art and The The Joan W. McCoy Memorial Peoples’ Choice Award, will be distributed at the discretion of the juror and will be announced at the Sunday, September 8 reception at 3 pm. Rosewood Gallery encourages sales, for which the City of Kettering Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department retains a 30% commission. The Peoples’ Choice award will be announced at the close of the exhibition.

The Philadelphia Furniture Show is a juried exhibition and sale of exceptional artisan quality furniture and is the longest running exhibition of its kind. Now in its 25th year, the show continues to set the bar for the finest heirloom handmade furniture and furnishings in the United States.

Six jurors who are experts in the field choose up to 100 artists from a large pool of applicants. Artists are selected on the basis of the originality, conception, and craftsmanship of their work.

Hot Works’ 4th Asheville Fine Art Show, October 26 & 27, 2019 is outdoors in downtown Asheville – a premium location in Pack Square Park. Last weekend of October is one of Asheville’s busiest weekends of the year – during the most beautiful time of year when the leaves are changing color.

The SAAG National Juried show, which is in its 12th year, will be on display during the peak visitor months of October and November, attracting interest from the surrounding tri-state metropolitan areas of Atlanta, Asheville, Chattanooga and Knoxville. Artworks selected by the juror will be displayed in the Richard Low Evans Gallery located in the historic courtroom of the Art Center, which is home to the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association in Blue Ridge, Georgia.

OPA’s 2019 Eastern Regional Exhibition is being hosted by Beverly McNeil Gallery, located in Birmingham, Alabama, October 10 through November 11, 2019. The Opening Reception will be held on Thursday, October 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the awards presentation at 7:00 p.m.

The goal of the exhibition is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.

The total awards will be approximately $11,500, including a $4,000 Best In Show.

This is a call for the inclusion of public art collections in the Public Art Archive™, an online database of public art. To be considered for inclusion, you must be a professional artist who has completed and installed public artwork, or an administrator of an established public art program.

There is no charge to submit entries to the Public Art Archive™.  Public art is defined here as art that is sited in a public place that is accessible or viewable by the general public and was, in most cases, commissioned by a public art entity, typically using percent-for-art or public funding. Gallery art and art exhibited inside galleries and museums is not eligible.

Works of art that were commissioned and/or gifted by corporations, museums, educational institutions, private parties, and other entities may be considered eligible. Artworks that have been destroyed are not eligible. Permanently cited, temporary, new media, performative, rotating, and portable works may be eligible if they meet the commonly known definition of public art or civic art.
