The School of Art & Design seeks proposals from artists 18 years of age or older for outdoor sculptures to be exhibited on the Evansdale campus of West Virginia University (WVU) in Morgantown, West Virginia. Sculptures will be on display for two years (from October 2019- October 2021). Selection includes an honorarium of $2,000.00 for travel, set up, and de-installation. $1000.00 of the honorarium will be dispersed at install and the remaining $1000.00 will be dispersed when the artist picks up their work.

The Wildflower Arts & Nature Festival

Wildflower Arts and Nature Festival is a one day spring festival celebrating the arts and nature, May 4th, 2019, from starting at 10am, at Beech Fork State Park (the campgrounds) in Barboursville, WV. Admission is free.

The festival includes wildflower hikes, local artisans, a farmer’s market, nature educators, live music, other Appalachian performers, an art show, and more.

The Berkeley Arts Council will host the “Young Emerging Artists”, a juried art exhibit to showcase the creativity of the young artists in the region. The exhibit is open to students 10th grade through senior year of college, including public and private high school, community college, and home school students. The exhibit will be displayed June 5-July 7, 2019 in the Back Space at the Berkeley Art Works 116 North Queen Street in Martinsburg.

Tamarack is looking for the Best of West Virginia. Every item sold in the Tamarack facility is approved through a jury process. Artist’s product is critiqued by a panel of Master Craftspeople and Artists who look for outstanding craftsmanship, unique design, creativity, and use of exceptional quality materials. To be considered for an in-person jury, Tamarack accepts digital image submissions of work via an online submission process.

Archives are used for research, but they can also inspire contemporary thought, perspective and fun which is the aim of this curated project. This exhibition and online project by the WVU Libraries Art in the Libraries program seeks to inspire literal and figurative out-of-the-box ideas for our West Virginia & Regional History Center collections.

The Art in the Libraries committee will select images to be uploaded to the exhibition page as well as a selected twenty to be displayed in the Downtown Campus Library Room 1020 during the summer of 2019.

The College Art Search: FestivALL’s Quest for Emerging Artists is an annual event produced by Charleston Town Center, which searches for the most visually artistic college students & showcases a selection of artwork at the Town Center Mall during FestivALL in June. Mediums include collage, drawing, painting, photography, graphic art, pen & ink, sculpture, textiles, stained glass and repurposed materials.

FestivALL Charleston and the City of Charleston Office of Public Art are requesting proposals and qualifications from artists for the design and implementation of a series of public art murals to be located on Charleston’s West Side Elk City District. Eight artists will be selected. Each artist will paint one 4′ x 8′ panel to be installed in the Artist Alley.

Artists will receive $1,000 per panel. Artists who are selected will be notified by June 11, 2019 and panels should be completed by September 30, 2019. *Some activities will be required during FestivALL June 16-30, particularly June 22 from 4 – 7 p.m. during the Ice Cream & the Arts in Elk City event.

The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History invites West Virginia artists to enter the 21st West Virginia Juried Exhibition. Since 1979, the biennial event celebrates the exceptional talents and creativity of Mountain State artists.

The department will purchase award-winning art for the West Virginia State Museum art collection, ensuring that this collection grows and includes the works of contemporary artists as well as past masters.

Awards will be presented for the Governor’s Award, Award of Excellence, and Merit Award.

The Putnam Farmers Market was established in 2009. All vendors are local. You’ll find in-season produce, locally raised meat, farm fresh eggs, home baked goods, local honey, fresh flowers, berries, handmade jewelry and crafts from local farmers and artisans. The market is located at Valley Park and open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The 4th annual Baltimore Fine Craft Show is a juried exhibition and sale of contemporary American & International crafts and design and is being produced in collaboration with the Baltimore’s 39th Annual Art, Antique, and Jewelry Show by the Palm Beach Show Group.

Three jurors who are experts in the field and newly selected each year choose artists from a large pool of applicants. Previous exhibitors must re-apply each year. There is no quota for any category of Craft Art. Artists are selected on the basis of the originality, artistic conception, design and quality of their work. The Show does not charge sales commissions.

Now in its 55th year, Craft + Design is a museum-quality show that has garnered a reputation for showcasing the finest in contemporary craft. 
It has also ranked in the Top 25 Events for Sales of Fine Craft in 2018 (ArtFairSourceBook). Shoppers spend the weekend browsing the work of over 150 artists from across the country. Awards are presented in ceramics, precious metals, glass, wood and recycled materials, contemporary design, innovative use of traditional craft materials and fiber.  The event will take place November 22-24, 2019 at Main Street Station’s renovated train shed.

HWD is a juried exhibition celebrating three-dimensional artwork by artists from Ohio and surrounding states.  Established in 2007, it is the region’s only gallery exhibition focused exclusively on sculpture.

Awards totaling $1,750, including the The Virginia Krause Hess Award for Excellence in Sculptural Art and The The Joan W. McCoy Memorial Peoples’ Choice Award, will be distributed at the discretion of the juror and will be announced at the Sunday, September 8 reception at 3 pm. Rosewood Gallery encourages sales, for which the City of Kettering Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department retains a 30% commission. The Peoples’ Choice award will be announced at the close of the exhibition.

The Philadelphia Furniture Show is a juried exhibition and sale of exceptional artisan quality furniture and is the longest running exhibition of its kind. Now in its 25th year, the show continues to set the bar for the finest heirloom handmade furniture and furnishings in the United States.

Hot Works’ 4th Asheville Fine Art Show, October 26 & 27, 2019 is outdoors in downtown Asheville – a premium location in Pack Square Park. Last weekend of October is one of Asheville’s busiest weekends of the year – during the most beautiful time of year when the leaves are changing color.

The focus is visual arts – this juried fine art & fine craft show requires that all art is original & personally handmade by the artist who is at the art show. All forms of discipline are accepted.

$1,500 in professional artist awards will be presented.

This is a call for the inclusion of public art collections in the Public Art Archive™, an online database of public art. To be considered for inclusion, you must be a professional artist who has completed and installed public artwork, or an administrator of an established public art program. There is no charge to submit entries to the Public Art Archive™.  Public art is defined here as art that is sited in a public place that is accessible or viewable by the general public and was, in most cases, commissioned by a public art entity, typically using percent-for-art or public funding. Gallery art and art exhibited inside galleries and museums is not eligible. Works of art that were commissioned and/or gifted by corporations, museums, educational institutions, private parties, and other entities may be considered eligible. Artworks that have been destroyed are not eligible. Permanently cited, temporary, new media, performative, rotating, and portable works may be eligible if they meet the commonly known definition of public art or civic art.
