The artwork will be displayed among winter artifacts from the newly formed WV Snow Sports Museum. Artwork will be on exhibit at Cottrill Opera House from November 17-March 31, with an opening reception in conjunction with Thomas Art Walk, January 19 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.

The Oglebay Institute’s annual Holiday Art Show & Sale is an extraordinary holiday shopping event featuring fine art and crafts from the region’s most talented artists. The exclusive six-week show provides an outstanding opportunity for selected artists to sell to thousands of enthusiastic shoppers in TWO ideal locations – the historic Stifel Fine Arts Center, located on the highly traveled National Road in Wheeling, and the Schrader Environmental Education Center, located in the world-class Oglebay Park. The show runs November 15 through December 29, 2018.

Every item sold in the Tamarack facility is approved through a jury process where the artist’s product is critiqued by a panel of Master Craftspeople and Artists who look for outstanding craftsmanship, unique design, creativity, and use of materials that are of exceptional quality. Each artist’s work is evaluated and critiqued by a panel of jurors who excel within their specific media type.

Wheeling Heritage is asking artists to share their vision of Wheeling for a mural project. The artist who is selected will bring that idea to life at Kossuth Park, the small green space at the intersection of Route 2 and Interstate 70 in downtown Wheeling. The mural should evoke a sense of community and celebrate Wheeling. The mural will be 20 feet wide and 10 feet tall, and the scale of the piece should be designed for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
A committee from Wheeling Heritage will select up to four projects. Those four projects will be featured on Wheeling Heritage’s website, where the community will vote for their favorite. The design that receives the most votes will be selected for the mural. Not only will community members vote on the mural, but they will also have the chance to participate in its creation. The project will have a community involvement aspect, such as a paint by numbers section or designated section to be painted by the community, as decided upon by the artist. Project budget not to exceed $4,500. The mural is intended for completion by April 1, 2019.
Berkeley Springs Artists at The Works Co-op space

The Berkeley Art Works is located at 116 North Queen Street in Martinsburg, WV. It is a project of the Berkeley Arts Council and home to a select group of local artists whose work is for sale in the gallery. The co-op currently has one open space for a two-dimensional artist and one open space for a three-dimensional artist.

Focus: Fiber 2019 is a biennial national juried exhibition of contemporary fiber art. This exhibition is co-sponsored by the Textile Art Alliance of the Cleveland Museum of Art (TAA), and Kent State University Museum.
Focus: Fiber 2019 will be held March 1 to July 28, 2019 at Kent State University Museum in Kent, OH. Artists living in the U.S. may submit up to 3 entries. All work must be either fiber in content or executed in a fiber related technique. Innovative two- and three-dimensional fiber art is encouraged.

Smithsonian Photography Contest

The Smithsonian will select 10 finalists per category, a winner for each category, and a Grand Prize winner from the 60 finalists. The 60 finalists will be notified of their status by March 2019 and will appear on our website in spring 2019. At that time, the public can vote on our website for the Readers’ Choice winner from among the 60 finalists. The Readers’ Choice winner, Grand Prize winner and category winners will be revealed online in spring 2019.

Florida CraftArt, along with the curators, invites artists who make jewelry using nontraditional methods, materials or concepts to apply for exhibition. In the current age where more materials and methods are available and interchangeable between media, artists have the opportunity to repurpose and reconfigure established techniques. We are looking for examples of contemporary, forward-thinking jewelry in a variety of materials and styles. Jewelry may be any wearable form (necklace, brooch, ring, bracelet, earrings, etc.).

The Philadelphia Furniture Show

The Philadelphia Furniture Show is a juried exhibition and sale of exceptional artisan quality furniture and is the longest running exhibition of its kind. Now in its 25th year, the show continues to set the bar for the finest heirloom handmade furniture and furnishings in the United States. Held at the 23rd Street Armory in downtown Philadelphia, PA’s Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, PFS features 85-100 of the finest furniture makers in the US and beyond. Show dates: October 4-6, 2019
Six jurors who are experts in the field choose up to 100 artists from a large pool of applicants. Artists are selected on the basis of the originality, conception, and craftsmanship of their work.
The Philadelphia Furniture Show is primarily furniture with an allowance of up to 10% of exhibitors in the home décor, lighting, art and ceramics categories.
Public Art Archive

This is a call for the inclusion of public art collections in the Public Art Archive™, an online database of public art. To be considered for inclusion, you must be a professional artist who has completed and installed public artwork, or an administrator of an established public art program. There is no charge to submit entries to the Public Art Archive™. Public art is defined here as art that is sited in a public place that is accessible or viewable by the general public and was, in most cases, commissioned by a public art entity, typically using percent-for-art or public funding. Gallery art and art exhibited inside galleries and museums is not eligible. Works of art that were commissioned and/or gifted by corporations, museums, educational institutions, private parties, and other entities may be considered eligible. Artworks that have been destroyed are not eligible. Permanently cited, temporary, new media, performative, rotating, and portable works may be eligible if they meet the commonly known definition of public art or civic art.
