Gallery Eleven is a West Virginia artist co-op with the mission of presenting a diverse range of West Virginian artistic expressions. The Crazy Eights annual small works exhibit is the only non-juried exhibition of the year.  All ages and media are accepted.  Galley Eleven strives to connect new and emerging artists with established working artists and exhibition opportunities through the annual event.

Apartment Earth Gallery 3rd Annual Juried Exhibition

Apartment Earth Gallery in Charleston, WV hosts the 3rd Annual Juried Exhibition February 15 through March 10, 2018.  First place, Second place, and Honorable Mention will be awarded by jurors, Jessica and Jack O’Hearn.  The call for entry is open to all artists (including students).  All forms of visual art may be submitted.

Apartment Earth is a contemporary fine art gallery devoted to presenting exemplary works primarily from emerging and undiscovered artists. The works are daring, provocative – and sometimes even controversial.  The space is a vibrant contributor to Charleston’s community and is often one of the most popular stops during monthly arts events.

Tamarack is looking for the Best of West Virginia at an upcoming February 1, 2018 jury session to be held in Morgantown. Every item sold in the Tamarack facility is first approved through a jury process. In this process, an artist’s product is critiqued by a panel of Master Craftspeople and Artists who look for outstanding craftsmanship, unique design, creativity, and use of materials that are of exceptional quality. Each artist’s work is evaluated and critiqued by jurors who work within their media type.

In conjunction with Looking at Appalachia, on display at the WVU Downtown Campus Library, the Arts in the Libraries Program is developing a localized exhibit, Looking at Morgantown, to be on view April-August, 2018 in Room 1020 in the Downtown Campus Library.

Looking at Appalachia is a juried project exploring the diversity of Appalachia fifty years after the declaration of the War on Poverty.  The call for photography is specific to Monongalia County; what people and places represent Morgantown to you?

The WVU Art in the Libraries Committee will jury the submissions for exhibition. Winners will be notified in March 2018 via email. Libraries will print and install the photographs.

The West Virginia Division of Culture and History provides grant support for professional and emerging artists to expand or improve their work or share their expertise. The matching grants cover up to 75 percent of eligible costs for the first year, not to exceed $2,500; or up to 50 percent of eligible costs for subsequent years, not to exceed $2,500.

Earth, Wood and Fire is looking for works of clay, wood and stone that explore the artist’s relationship to the natural world.  It will feature professional artists working in wood, clay and stone and include an open juried competition for any artist working in these mediums. Monetary awards will be given to works selected by the juror.  The exhibition will also be featured in the 2018 National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) Conference exhibition listings. Pittsburgh, PA hosts the 2018 NCECA conference March 14-17, 2018.

Brickscape is a six week residency culminating in an exhibition. Ten artists will be selected.  Artists have 24 hour access to a previously unoccupied historical space where they will create temporary, site-specific installation art.  The proposed artwork should respond to the history and culture of the location or the surrounding community of Charleston as well as the physical environment of the space in which the work will be created.  Preference will be given to proposals that provide an immersive or interactive environment that remains accessible to a diverse audience.  Artists working in all mediums are encouraged to apply. As part of the festivities of FestivALL Preview Weekend in May, the exhibit will be open to the public throughout the weekend. Artists are required to attend the first two days of the exhibition’s opening. A closing reception will be held at the end of FestivALL with deinstallation occurring the following weekend.

Artistry on Main will host the 1st annual Spring into Art Juried Craft Show at the Brushy Fork Convention Center in Buckhannon April 13-14, 2018.  Artisans are required to submit 3-6 images of their work by February 15 for jury.  The jury process is waived for Tamarack juried artists.

Charleston Mayor Danny Jones and FestivALL Director Brittany Javins invite you to apply for the 14th annual FestivALL Capitol Street Art Fair and/or the 6th annual FestivALL Harvest Art Fair. Both of these fairs are juried by a panel of professional artisans and art administrators with a mission of displaying and selling fine art and fine crafts in Charleston, West Virginia. The FestivALL Capitol Street Art Fair takes place on June 23 and 24, the last two days of FestivALL, which is a ten-day festival of the arts. The FestivALL Harvest Art Fair takes place on October 20 and 21, the last two days of FestivALL FALL, which is a three-day festival.

The 22nd San Angelo National Ceramic Competition, held at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, highlights a broad range of attitudes in the clay medium from functional to sculptural work. The Museum devotes its entire space to the show. In the last competition 115 works were displayed.  The competition is open to all artists 18 or older who are residents of the United States, Canada, or Mexico. All work must have been completed within the last two years. Works previously accepted into this competition are ineligible.   $6,000 in prized will be awarded.

The CPSA International Exhibition is an annual juried gallery exhibition exclusively for works done in 100% colored pencil. It is held in a different city each year to provide more people the opportunity to enjoy colored pencil as a fine art medium. Awards include a $5,000 Best of Show and CIPPY Award. Numerous monetary awards are presented each year. In 2017, cash awards totaled $16,300. Works are not required to be for sale.  25% Commission on sales.  See details.
