This craft called rug hooking beckons me to Try to make recognizable images, to make interesting or pleasing color combinations and, always, to make something that rises to the level of art. Words and animals find their way into some of my pieces, and I interpret my own, or authorized, photographs of buildings and landscapes.
Biography
Born in Morristown, New Jersey in 1949, I have made my home in West Virginia since 1973. It is 2017, and I have been married for nearly 40 years and have two children. For about 10 years, I used my law degree and license to represent children in child abuse and neglect cases. During that time, I met some of the finest and some of the most troubled West Virginians. And I met children, always hopeful children. When I learned rug hooking in 2001, I knew that I had found the medium to express my visual art yearnings. With my own children grown and my law practice closed, I am channeling my energy into my craft.
