I loved art from the moment I got my first box of crayons. It is always about the colors for me, and I enjoy vivid hues as well as the expressions of softer shades. The West Virginia landscape is the framework for many of my paintings, especially the rivers and streams. I also enjoy painting colorful florals and produce. I like my paintings to have a local and/or regional concept since I am fortunate to live among such native beauty.

Biography

I am a painter of landscapes and still life living on a farm outside Alderson, WV since my retirement from government service. While I mostly paint in acrylic, I also enjoy using pastels, watercolors, and oils. Currently, I am a member of the Greenbrier Artists and a founding member of the Alderson Artisans Gallery where my work can be purchased along with the creative works of other local artisans. While I am mostly self-taught, I have taken numerous workshops from nationally know artists and have exhibited my work in Charleston and Lewisburg.
