Most of the sculptures I carve are about making ephemeral, hard-to-quantify subjects real and tangible. These positive subjects include: freedom, working together towards a goal, joy, being motivated, and perseverance. These are all subjects that most people recognize and embody as values in their personal and professional lives.

As a sculptor who carves exterior sculpture, my work will be seen all hours of the day and night. The work I make is a celebration of what is noble about people and should be applauded. I deeply believe that public artists have a responsibility, through their artwork, to be supportive of the people that take the time to view their artwork. In addition, the artist should be making artwork that can grow and change with the passing of time and not become an out-of-fashion eyesore

I am a full-time, self-employed artist, the last 15 years as an abstract stone sculptor. I have sculptures in homes and businesses across the United States as well as in Zug, Switzerland. One of my pieces if part of the permanent collection of the West Virginia State Museum. I currently lease and permanently install sculptures in about a 1,000 mile radius to Martinsburg, West Virginia. Many of my recently completed sculptures stand 5 feet tall and weigh in at about 1100 – 1500 pounds.

I have taken: Photography Class at Maryland Institute, Baltimore, MD; Design Classes University of Maryland, College Park, MD; pottery & sculpture classes at Frostburg State College in Frostburg, MD; and sculptures classes & degree through Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, WV.
