After reading a National Geographic article about the dying art of copper wheel engraving, I wanted to learn more about engraving in general and so I decided to combine my skill set with this art. My artwork features my love of the natural world around me as well as the love of sculpting, painting, and drawing. I remain committed to the old world method of hand engraving by using a lathe and a variety of stone wheels, each with their own diameter and profile. Working mainly with crystal, each piece can take up to 200 hours to engrave and the end result is a handmade masterpiece that displays my love of art, nature, and all things beautiful. My hope is to continue creating art and to inspire young people to do the same.

Biography

Encouraged by my artistic father and inspired by Michelangelo and Peter Paul Rubens, I began creating art at a very young age and have spent the last 41 years mastering my craft and honing my skills in the dying art of intaglio crystal engraving. I combine my natural talent for the arts with my love of beauty and nature, the results of which have been featured in more than 70 countries and have been presented to two United States Presidents. Currently, my artwork is part of the permanent collections located in the White House, the State of West Virginia, and the Richard Nixon Library. Some awards and recognition are: West Virginia Woman of the Year for Arts, S.B.A.’s W.V. Home Based Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, and Dream Maker of the Arts, to name a few.
