Mountain Nonna Pottery was formed in 2006 as a business to sell my pottery at local fairs and festivals. Then as an online name for use on my site on Etsy and Facebook.

Biography

I am a painter, a potter, an explorer of traditional and herbal crafts as well as a teacher. I was born in York, Pennsylvania and moved to the tidewater area of Virginia at a young age. I graduated from Kellam High school and attended both Tidewater Community College (where I was introduced to pottery) as well as Old Dominion University. I continued my interests in Pottery through the Virginia Beach Art Center now known as Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). I studied with Pamela Lassiter, Elaine Goulart, and Donna Winchell in pottery. I studied painting with Renata Keep also at The Virginia Beach Center for the Arts. I am currently president of the Pocahontas County Arts Council were I teach pottery and painting in a community setting.
