Hey Y’all! My name is Jessie McClanahan and it’s nice to meet ya. I’m a ceramics artist from southern West Virginia, and my work explores relationships and identity through an Appalachian lens; everything in our world is connected and related to each other. It affects how we see ourselves and the people around us. I delve into the relationships we have to nature, ourselves, and traditional modes of working. I do this by incorporating found or re-purposed materials and create my work from traditional craft mediums such as clay.
