I look for the areas where art and life begin to merge in and out of each other. As a person who is willfully trapped inside of his own skull, I am always attempting to watch the ways that the imagination mediates reality in my own mind and in the minds of others. Therefore, I attempt to create a sense of theatricality in my work while also allowing for some Brechtian disruptions to remind the viewer of what is truly in front of them. I feel that the most interesting moments in art happen when we catch ourselves looking at art.
