After having been in the sign business for thirty five years with customers such as the National Capitol Building, Smithsonian Institute 1876 Exhibit, National Park Service Preservation Department, Kennedy Center, and Sangamore Hill, I am currently putting my talent to different use.  My main artistic endeavors are fabric wall art made from found pieces surrounded by quilting and embellishment, painted found furniture pieces, sign painting, and restoring old furniture to it’s former glory.  I use found furniture as a base for my unique painting and decorating skills.  Often I cut tiles or plates up and place the pieces artistically on to the furniture, sometimes with a theme such as wine or fruit.

I have had my art in several galleries and am currently a member of the Washington Street Artists Cooperative in Charles Town.  I also do commissions of special painted furniture.

Biography

I am a decorative furniture painter/quilted wall art maker/songwriter Living in Charles Town WV.  My style of art was influenced by my 35 year career as a sign painter along side my dad.  I won the craftsman of the year award for historic stenciling on St. John’s Church in Ellicott City, Maryland. I gold leafed a screen for Sagamore Hill that is in Eleanor Roosevelts drawing room, did gold leaf for the Navy department in the Pentagon, and was sent to Scagway, Alaska by the National Park Service to paint gold leaf on windows.  I painted the historic clock face at the Springfield Armory and had work in the Smithsonian 1876 exhibit.
