As a film-maker and a choreographer, I am inspired by a good story. In the documentary field, I have developed a lyrical style, based upon solid narratives and musical integration. As a musician, I am interested in the ways music interacts with images.
Biography
I am a documentary film-maker, a musician, a ballet dancer, a writer, and an actress. I have written, directed, and appeared in over a thousand productions in film, television, and theater.
I have won three Emmy Awards for my PBS documentaries, I’ve had three plays produced in New York, authored books, articles, and published a textbook on musical theater.
I am from Huntington, WV and that is where I live today. I graduated summa cum laude from New York University, where I studied under the legendary film scholar William K. Everson and drama coach, Stella Adler, receiving both a B.A. and M.A. in film and theater. I also studied ballet with Leon Danelian, Patricia Wilde, Nenette Charisse, and Finis Jhung. Additional study at American Ballet Theatre, Charleston Ballet. In addition, I have a B.F.A. in music composition from Marshall University.
