Melony Gingery Art is my newest business venture. Without clearly defined borders it allows space for creative dreams to grow. It is my place for creating sculptures, splashing vivid color, encouraging the artistic journey of others and advocating for the furtherance of arts in West Virginia,
Biography
A self-taught artist, I have been painting with alcohol ink since 2013 and began sculpting with epoxy-clay in 2014. My work has been included in group and solo exhibitions throughout the state. In 2017 and 2018 I was honored to have sculptures juried into Artfields in Lake City, South Carolina. When not in my Parkersburg studio, I collaborate with Artsbridge to share art with Wood County students through the ArtCart program and as a Catalog Artist.
I am a Dreamer. Reality can be harsh for someone who lives in dreams. The sculptures and paintings I make are a depiction of how the two co-exist. You see, we are both shadow and light. The black epoxy and colorful mica powders represent that contrast. Each piece holds a lesson that allows me to grow as an artist and a dreamer. My hope is that something I’ve created speaks as loudly to you as it has to me.
