About Kelly LaCava
I am a self taught artist and started painting 14 years ago as a means of stress relief when I realized a career as a chemist wasn’t for me. I had no idea at the time that art would become my profession- I have now been a live teaching artist for the past 12 years. I’m the owner and one of the handful of instructors of Wild & Wonderful Paint Parties which allows me to teach beginners painting classes all over the state. I believe art is for everyone and find joy witnessing others build confidence as they discover the therapeutic benefits of painting. In my personal work I enjoy painting vibrant & abstract acrylic landscapes. I’m constantly inspired by nature and try to replicate the bright and bold colors I see outside. My work has been shown in galleries such as Love Hope Arts in Fayetteville and Bloomfield Richwood. I have live painted at Mountain Music Festival and Love Hope Art’s fundraiser The Showdown, and sell my work every year on Bridge Day. I love living in the New River Gorge region and taking in the beauty constantly surrounding me. When I’m not creating art I enjoy rock climbing, running, river surfing and hanging out with my husband Daniel and our two kids Henry and Lucy.
