About Krisha Redillas

My recent work is an exploration of the impulsive, chaotic mind and natural world. Through my abstract acrylic paintings, I celebrate the messy beauty of our inner landscape and our environment. Influenced by the West Virginian forests and fields I grew up with, I use flourishing and messy brush strokes to show that our minds are always moving and changing—just like the wildness of nature. I use bold and abundant colors spontaneously to create compositions that are both chaotic and rhythmic. Through these explorations, I invite viewers to embrace the inherent beauty of chaos and to recognize their own belonging within this grand, unpredictable, interconnected web of life.

Biography

I’m Krisha, an abstract painter based in West Virginia. Born and raised in Charleston, WV, I currently paint in my apartment garage in Morgantown, WV. After graduating in 2019 with a Multidisciplinary degree in Psychology + Design from WVU, I began my artistic career as a graphic designer. In 2022, I earned a Platinum Award in Publications for complete magazine design, issued by the Creativity International Design Awards. My explorations in magazine designs moved me to pursue my love for painting and illustration. My work explores the impulsive mind, flow of nature, and the interconnectedness of the life around us. I mainly paint with acrylic paints and occasionally play with oils, oil pastels, and gouache.
