My art is about nature as only I see it. The flow of water in our creeks and the floating leaves are ever changing, therefore: my images change. My glass is organic in form, sometimes it turns into jewelry with cast sterling, other times it becomes functional or simply decorative. I strive to invite the viewer into my pieces to discover their own images. In this way they find the artist within.

Biography

I was an art teacher at Huntington High School and Marshall University. I am now a grandmother, practicing glass artist, painter and jewelry maker. Inspirations for my creations come from the beauty of my home state, West Virginia. I show my work at Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia and have two pieces in the state collection. I have taken several classes at “Hot Glass” in North Carolinia under the leadership of Jody Danner Walker.

In addition to my Bachelors in Art Education and Masters in Studio Art from Marshall University, I have obtained or completed 45 hours of elective studies in Art, a permanent teaching certificate in WV, five classes in the methods of glass fusing, and a commission to create a completely glass door for a private home.
