About Rosemarie Valsoaney

“My hope is that my art brings an emotional experience to others and fills the world with beauty.”

Texture, dimension, and color are the basis for my original acrylic mixed media artwork. I find the natural world to be my main source of inspiration. I work intuitively in a process of building up and scraping back paint, to create surfaces which hold many images within them.

Most of my work reflects the beauty of nature. It is expressive. I love working with various brushes and mark-making tools. I fill the canvas with line, gestures, color, and movement.

Nature is symbolic of growth, change, and all-encompassing. It is the fleeting beauty of life. Simply put it is our home,

Biography

I am an expressionist painter. I am self-taught. I started out by creating reproductions of Great Masters which led me into creating my own style of painting.

I have a studio in the Panhandle of West Virginia. I am an environmentalist and I am very interested in the power of art as a healing tool.
