About Sadie Chidester

With my artwork, I am experimenting with different surfaces and textures to create insecurities in the skin. This includes acne, stretch marks, wrinkles, etc. I’m inspired to show the beauty in a blemish and show that it’s normal to have these things on your body. I want people to view my paintings and relate them back to their own bodies.

Biography

I am from Fairmont, WV. I am a Fairmont State University Studio Art major with two minors in Business and Museum Studies. I am a painter, but also work with other media like printmaking, and mixed media. I started practicing art like drawing and painting when I was younger because my great grandma was a painter herself. She was my main inspiration growing up and made me want to pursue art professionally.
