About Sarah Fox

Much of my work is fueled by research and observation and I am extremely inspired by the lives of animals, sustainability, and queer culture. I work mostly as a representational painter, but enjoy printmaking, ceramics, and video. A common subject in my work are farm and companion animals and exploring their relationships to one another, their surroundings, and the humans who care for them.

Biography

I am a multi- disciplinary artist who grew up on a farm in southern WV and currently resides in Huntington, WV with my wife and three cats. My work is intertwined with my interest in animal advocacy, sustainability, and community organizing. I served as an intern for Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glenn, NY in 2021, was awarded Artist in Residence at Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge in Pittsboro, NC in 2023. I was a co collaborator for “Here and Now”, a community centered creative project sponsored by New Media Advocacy Project. I am a founding member of the artist collective based in downtown Huntington, HACkS, that host studio spaces, and an art and music event space.
