About Syd Roseland Snodgrass

I don’t really know what to say here. I do illustrations for children’s books because I want to make content that my kids will like. I draw portraits because I felt sad about not having pictures of some of my family members with my son. I do art because I guess I don’t know how to live when I’m not making something. Creating something for someone else feels like I’m writing a love letter to existing.

Biography

I’m an illustrator and portrait artist from southeast Ohio but now live in Parkersburg, WV. I have been creating art seriously for more than ten years and have been selling art since I graduated high school in 2017. I took one semester of college before I realized standardized education didn’t work for me very well and left to pursue art full time. I have sold art to Walmart, a mural which was put up in six stores in four states, and have more recently begun selling commissioned portraits of people and also pets. I’m also in the process of compiling a book of poems and looking for a publisher.
