I am an artist who specializes in highly realistic sculpture. My primary focus is the Equine subject. I strive to portray the emotion and movement of an individual at a moment in time. Extreme attention to detail, anatomy, and correct conformation are infused into each piece.
Original sculptures at Twin Oak Arabians are created using wire, tin foil, and self hardening epoxy. Most sculpture editions are reproduced as limited one mold runs in various media including bronze, artist quality resin, and fine bone china. Commissions are accepted for sculptures and hand painted custom work. All hand painting is done with acrylics in the direction of hair growth. Hair by hair acrylic detailing may take up to 75 hours for one subject in 1/10th scale. I sign, date, and seal each hand painted completed work of art.
Biography
As a little girl I grew up riding and showing a purebred Arabian who is a grandson of the great founding sire Khemosabi++++. This amazing animal is the inspiration and the heart of my passion for horses. The name of my business “Twin Oak Arabians” is born from my childhood as well. Our home had two large oak trees which grew in the form of a V at the base. If we had ever chosen to begin an Arabian horse farm we would have given it the same name.
I began drawing and painting at a young age and started sculpting in early 2007. The natural ability I have is God given and cannot be attributed to any formal training. My hope is that the essence of each piece will inspire and resonate within you, bringing joy to your life with each gaze upon it.
