Nan Perry Art began officially after my retirement. At that time, I took a serious approach to my painting and began an actively promoting Nan Perry Art
Biography
I was born in Alabama at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain range. The lush greens and rolling hills of those years fostered a love for rural landscapes and country nuances, which I later would attempt to translate to the canvas as an artist. As a child I loved to sketch never suspecting that tendency would later give vent to a love affair with oil painting. After a career in education and a move to West Virginia, I now paint full-time. Although never receiving a formal art degree, I have had opportunities to study with such artists as Jane Kirk, Judith Jordan, Donny Finley, Roger Dale Brown, Paul McCormick, Collie Whisson, Dot Swenson, Peggi Kroll-Roberts, and Julee Hutchison. My goal is to paint the beauty of the ordinary and connect with the emotions common to us all. My supreme joy to to paint plein air, of which there is no substitute.
