I support others to record and craft audio stories– by leading workshops that train and equip participants in audio storytelling, and also through all kinds of collaborations. Past work has included investigative public radio reporting, podcast storytelling, an app-based audio tour, and a range of other approaches to creative audio and writing.

Biography

Community radio storytelling trainer, sound artist, and investigative reporter. From Morgantown, now in Beckley, working for WMMT-fm / Appalshop. Started as a reporter, won awards for investigative coverage of black lung disease and coalfield drinking water issues. Gradually drifted into crafting stories where interviewees are also the narrator. Now working to go a step further in the direction of empowering and centering marginalized voices by offering free and paid trainings, as well as collaborating to help a wider range of voices get on heard.
