About Stephanie Warino
At 310 Soap Company, our methods are traditional and sustainable, and we use materials that have been used in Appalachia for generations. We used to be highly conscious sustainability experts right here, on Appalachian homesteads. We honored and used all of our resources, because they were hard-won, whether they were raised or harvested. Somehow we got away from our roots, and were led to believe that complicated formulas that add water, preservatives and chemicals were somehow better than traditional methods. We seek to bring these traditional methods back in an elevated form – our beneficial cold process tallow soaps and skincare with only natural and beneficial preservatives. The old ways are good ways.
Biography
I’m the founder of 310 Soap Company, from Fairmont, WV. I focus on methods are traditional and sustainable, and use materials that have been used in Appalachia for generations. 310 Soap Company seeks to bring these traditional methods back in an elevated form – our beneficial cold process tallow soaps and skincare with only natural and beneficial preservatives. The old ways are good ways. My educational background is science, which I use every day at 310 Soap Company. This background gives me a deep understanding of how natural materials behave or react under different circumstances, and how they react with each other. This background makes the production of an excellent technical product very accessible, thereby giving me the capacity to add beauty and creativity to each product as well.
