About Chrissy Zeltner
My motto in life is that you’re not having fun unless you’re covered in dirt or river water. My partner in life is amused by me because I may be covered in dirt from sprawling on the forest floor taking a picture of the underside of a mushroom or a macro shot of a newt.
Nothing pleases me more than sharing the joy I feel when I share pictures of my adventures outside and I make others smile or feel joy as well. I tell folks that my pictures can help them bring the outside inside. I am especially talented at capturing pictures of ice formations and reflections in water and that is figuratively reflected in a majority of my work.
Biography
As an avid hiker, whitewater kayaker, gardener and general lover of the outdoors, I take photographs of things that make me smile in hopes to share that joy with others. I’m lucky enough to live in spectacular Preston County and am surrounded by natural beauty and wildlife. I’ve always taken photographs of my adventures and things I see but never thought they were special except to me until a couple of years ago when friends started to ask about purchasing some. With encouragement from other creatives, I submitted one of my favorite pictures to a National Geographic photo contest and was delighted when it placed in the top 5% of global submissions. I lack training in photography but have been juried in to several local art shows and galleries recently. My hope is to continue to make others smile as much as I smile when I capture the images I do.
