About Donna Davy
I am an avid animal portrait painter because I love to capture moments that shows the personality or emotion of the animal. I love the baroque style and have created dramatic lighting in my portraits. I also paint other animals in their environments. Growing up, I have always had pets but now have a variety of animals and have rescued many cats and dogs. Many of my rescues are featured in my studio; each with their own personality shining through.
Biography
I am a painter of mainly animals and landscapes. I moved around with my family growing up from Massachusetts to Texas and spent my final high school years and college in Maryland. I have been painting seriously after raising my children and pursuing my MFA which I am currently finishing. I have opened up a studio and gallery recently and have begun selling my artwork. My painting, Tiberius, won first place in the student category in the 2022 issue of Artist Magazine. Craig Nelson is an acclaimed illustrator and artist and I have had the privilege of having him as my instructor for several classes as well as workshops.
