Peeping Dragon Photography was born in 2008, after an opportunity to provide photographic needs and photographic products to the motorsports community of southern West Virginia. Peeping Dragon Photography became the official track photographer of Princeton Speedway in 2008, with Beckley Motorsports Park coming on board in 2009. Also serving with three years of shooting in the motocross world at Burning Rock Adventure Park, Peeping Dragon has continued to provide the motorsports images serving the area for the past decade as well as to multiple media outlets, series, and other media based companies.
Biography
I envision my photography as a journey across Southern West Virginia and some surrounding locations of Appalachia as documenting the lost, the abandoned, and that which has shaped the history of the region after generations of coal mining in these rich hills. I feel my vast collection of works speak to each and every one of us in some way, opening dialogue about our history, our culture, and our future. Documenting these areas shows the unique way the coal industry has enmeshed itself in our everyday life. I have spent over 12 years collecting unique photographs regionally to showcase what is hidden in the foggy hollows and quiet mountaintops left to return to nature as it started.
Other aspects of my work include being one of the few motorsports photographers in our region. I am the official track photographer for Princeton Speedway, located near Princeton, WV as well as the track photographer at Beckley Motorsports Park, located in Prosperity, WV. I have captured the thrilling fight of racing events in moments, from the first green flag to the exciting end of the waving checkered banner for over10 years, building a solid career as a professional photographer. I have multiple published opportunities in magazine publications such as Dirt Late Model, Dirt Modified, Late Model Illustrated, and several others.
