About Catherine Devereux
I am a artisan pickle maker. I am originally from Ohio, but my home is in West Virginia. I pride myself on using only natural, fresh ingredients in all my products. Every pickle is hand-cut, hand-packed, and processed with care using traditional pickling techniques. I am still pretty new to the artist/artisan scene but I’ve been making pickles and canning food since I was eight years old. I never really thought about selling my pickles and sauces but I’ve been encouraged by friends, family, and the local community. My husband and I started Primal Pickles after taking control of our health in 2021, nutrition labels took on a whole new meaning. Store bought pickles were some of the worst offenders: riddled with yellow 5, sodium benzoate, calcium chloride and TONS of refined sugars. We weren’t satisfied with the pickle options that are available on the market. So we made our own.
We sold our first jar of signature pickles at the Handmade Holiday event in December of 2022. We were surprised by how many people had never tasted an all-natural pickle. It is our mission to bring the market pickles that look and taste expensive but are affordable; all while bringing the market real, fresh, all natural and locally sourced ingredients with zero unnecessary additives, artificial sweeteners, and refined sugars.
