Biography
I am an experimental psychologist by training. Nevertheless, I have always had a passion for the arts. Although the range of pictures I make is, at best, eclectic, my goal is to find the beauty, the intrigue, the beguiling, or the mystery in objects and scenes others might overlook. I am, in other words, interested in visual detritus. My work ranges from the abstract to more conventional forms of photography. I currently work on several projects including the creation of images without a camera (photograms and cliché verre) and with photographs inspired Japanese black ink painting known as sumi-e (すみえ). My work has been selected for the Huntington Museum of Art 280 Show, Marshall University’s Annual National Juried Exhibition, and Just Around the Bend, a show hosted by the University of Rio Grande.
