About Hannah Hedrick
Spore Print Press is rooted in the principles of environmental responsibility, creative reuse, and the universal accessibility of art. I am currently focused on printmaking and natural dyes, and the ways the two can interact.
I utilize secondhand, found, and responsibly sourced materials as a vehicle for my original prints and dye work: thrifted tees and dinner napkins, vintage deadstock fabric, organic cotton totes, handmade recycled paper. Each piece created through this process is unique and ready to live another full life.
I also love to bring others along through pop-up printing events around town and workshops at the Mother Jones Center for Resilient Community. Keep an eye out for local community print opportunities in 2025!
Biography
I am an artist and educator based in Wheeling, WV. As an Ohio Valley native, I’ve long been cultivating my appreciation for our green rolling hills and the things among them that are undeniably West Virginian. I have a degree in environmental biology from West Virginia University, and have spent over a decade in the field of experiential education. I directed community outreach and education programs focused on agriculture, foodways, and youth development at Grow Ohio Valley from 2017-2024. Since 2020, I have delivered programming and managed print shop operations at the Mother Jones Center for Resilient Community, whose mission is to spark creativity, empowering youth and adults to be agents of change in West Virginia. Since 2021, I have shared my creative work as Spore Print Press.
