About High Michael Roy
As a lifelong lover of words and stories, I have always gravitated towards writing. As early as 8 years old I was writing stories to share with my friends at school. As I got older, I stopped writing out of a desire to fit in and a fear of being perceived through my work. I’m recent years I have felt compelled to write more and more as I struggle with life’s daily challenges. Writing calms me, frees my mind, and helps me learn about myself and the world around me I’ve been motivated to write Justifiable Force by a variety of sources, not least of all the current political climate. I believe art is one of the greatest tools to push back against autocracy, hatred, fear, and violence. Through my work, I hope to show that regular people can stand against these evil forces that seem supernatural. My style is influenced by authors like Frederick Bauchman, Robert Jackson Bennet, P. Déjèli Clark, and Barbara Kingsolver.
