B.A. Graphic Design (Marietta College)

Website

I have been designing for 15 years and sewing for more than 25. I worked my way through college by sewing costumes for the college’s theater department and became the sole seamstress for Sharon’s Ms. Roberts’ Bridal Department. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Marietta College, I went to work for a publishing company, The Glass Press. There she designed books, catalogs and a bi-monthly magazine, Glass Collector’s Digest.

I began my freelance career and outfitted countless wedding parties before securing the position of Senior Graphic Designer with Stonewall Retail Marketing. In this role, I designed brochures and catalogs for tourism clients throughout Ohio and West Virginia. My design work with Stonewall received numerous industry awards. I now offer graphic design on a freelance basis for my own portfolio of clients in fashion, retail, publishing and tourism industries.

With the discovery of digital textile printing, I began designing fabric and launched my first product line of handcrafted apparel and home décor.

In 2012, I took first prize in the Fashion and Accessories category of
WV Living magazine’s “Made in WV Contest.” My textiles have been exhibited at the Grover M. Hermann Fine Arts Center Gallery at Marietta College, and I have products in 15 retail locations throughout Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

I reside in Williamstown, West Virginia with my husband, Buddy, and our four children: Garret, Chelsey, Emmy and Lea.

Biography

I am a graphic designer with a LOVE for fabric! I learned to sew when I was very young by watching my mother. Creating unique and beautiful things has always been enjoyable for me and I enjoy adding a bit of flourish to life.

After graduating with a degree in Graphic Design, I discovered digital textile printing. My old-fashioned sewing skills were suddenly introduced to my cutting edge computer skills! Now, in addition to assisting my clients with marketing, branding, social media management, and graphic design—I create my own surface pattern designs to be used on anything from fabric to gift wrap or wallpaper.
