About Steven Hughart
My work is centered around growing up in an impoverished Appalachia, mostly Southern WV. I am an expressionist and creating art is a very therapeutic process for me. Growing up poor and during the opioid pandemic that suffocates our area I have had many hard life lessons and traumatic experiences. I take these experiences and make beautiful works of art. I like to make beauty from my pain. It helps me heal.
